The Role:
Cactus technical expertise supports industry-leading organisations in the fields of Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Shipbuilding and Repair, Power Generation and Renewable Energy. To effectively repair and protect vital equipment and structures in some of the most extreme environments, our clients require the highest performing Surface Preparation, Composites and Coatings solutions. To get the most out of our innovative technologies, end users and contractors across these industries and more require training in the use and application of our solutions.

The Bristle Blaster and Applications Demonstrator / Trainer role will provide hands-on and classroom training related to operation, application, job efficiency, and safety.

Demonstrations and Training:
You will prepare a formal and rehearsed presentation of solutions and services. You will operate and apply Cactus technologies to demonstrate features and capabilities, communicate operating techniques, display effective application and safe practices. When demonstrating, you should also be well-prepared by understanding the client’s requirements and operating environment. Research of competitors and competitor products that clients may be familiar with should also be exercised.

Training will consist of hands-on and classroom training sessions on the operation, application, job efficiency, and safety of our Surface Preparation, Composites and Coatings.

You should always ask open-ended questions and know the features and benefits of Cactus technologies.

You should follow up with clients and serve as a technical consultant as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.

Demonstrations and Training will be delivered at Cactus warehouse and offices or at off-site locations across the UK.

The Person:
You will have a proven track record with a minimum of 3 years’ working as a Demonstrator, Trainer or Applicator of industrial Surface Preparation, Composites and Coatings technologies. You’ll be customer-driven with a high level of energy and enthusiasm and will possess well-developed inter-personal, communication (written and verbal), presentation, organisation and listening skills.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll work under limited supervision. You’ll be required to work independently and as a team player following established procedures and work instructions and able to create presentations for demonstrations and training. You’ll also have a strong ability to learn new products.

You’ll possess strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, analytical and technical skills, with the ability to work with multiple chemicals while using personnel protective equipment.

You’ll be comfortable being in contact with all personnel levels including executive and senior management, across various organisations.

You must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and you will be required to wear safety glasses, steel toed shoes and rubber gloves. The employee should be able use a respirator for short time periods.

Skills / Qualifications:
Nace level 2 or equivalent
Surface preparation experience ideally with Bristle Blaster Product technology
Knowledge and experience applying Composite and Coatings (Candidate will be required to deliver spray training courses, minimum 3 years spraying experience with plural spraying equipment)
An ability to complete QA forms and records accurately and clearly
An ability to identify problems and to seek appropriate solutions

Clean driving licence required
