PMMA-Based Top Coat / Sealer Coat

PMMA-Based Top Coat / Sealer Coat is a rapid-curing, heavy duty sealer coating with a mechanically durable finish. It’s suited to sealing the PMMA range of systems, providing steel deck protection, sealing concrete floors and to encapsulate anti-skid systems. It’s hard dry in just 40 minutes* (see Key Technical Data).

This 2-component fast-reactive and highly flexible, PMMA-based (polymethyl-methacrylate) resin seals the PMMA range of systems including PMMA-Based Waterproofing Coating and PMMA-Based Self-Levelling Mortar. As well as delivering a high-grade, mechanically durable finish with good gloss retention, application of this top coat is recommended to ensure effective and efficient cleaning of the PMMA systems. The Top Coat can be used for creating patterns such as tile effects or lettering. Different finishings (chips, sand, etc) can be applied to achieve the desired slip-resistant properties and optional decorative chips are available.

This Top Coat is part of the PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate) range of fast-reactive systems that offer quick installation and rapid curing times, ensuring minimal downtime and a quick return to service.

Product Description: A solvent-free, 2-component, fast curing and highly flexible methacrylate top coat sealer coating.
Product Information: Volume Solids: 100%

Typical Thickness: Minimum 600 microns

Theoretical Coverage: 0.6 – 1.1Kg/m² 

PMMA Catalyst: 2 – 6%. See “PMMA Catalyst Dosages”

Product application For mixing the product: Twin-paddle mixer, steel container

For applying the product: Brush, roller

Mixing: First stir the tub contents thoroughly.
Then add PMMA Catalyst while stirring the resin at the slow-speed setting and mix for 1 – 2 minutes.
Make sure that the product on the base and sides of the container is mixed in.

Pot life at +20°C: Approx. 15 min. (100 g, 2 % pbw. PMMA Catalyst)

Application temperature: 0°C to + 30°C
