Protecting A Separator Vessel in Elevated Temperatures

Protecting A Separator Vessel in Elevated Temperatures

ARC HT-S High Temperature Resistant Spray Coating ensured this Vessel quickly returned to operation and is effectively protected in elevated temperature immersion.

When corrosion and erosion damage was discovered across an Oil and Gas client’s Internal Separator Vessel, our High Temperature Resistant Spray epoxy Coating solution ensured a rapid return to service and effective erosion and corrosion protection.

Production Separator Vessels are vital pieces of equipment. Located on an offshore platform, our client’s designated pressure Vessel is designed to separate production fluids into their constituent components of oil, gas and water:

Production separator vessel process illustrationTo achieve the successful separation of these components, there is a very aggressive environment required inside the Vessel. When internal corrosion and erosion damage was detected across our client’s vessel, which is critical when detected on such equipment, ARC HT-S High Temperature Resistant Spray epoxy Coating solution was used for a full re-coat of the Production Vessel’s internal lining.

HT-S is a 100% solids ceramic reinforced abrasion epoxy. It performs in immersed aqueous solution conditions up to 150°C (302°F) ensuring effective mild abrasion, corrosion and erosion protection.

Oil and Gas Separator Vessel is coated in ARC HT-S High Temperature Resistant Spray Coating

ARC HT-S High Temperature Resistant Spray Coating  can be applied quickly and effectively by airless spray, providing a rapid return to service for this Vessel and long-term protection.

As well as Separator Vessels, ARC HT-S additional application areas include:

Fans & housings | Desalting vessels | Pumps | Heat exchangers | Valves

It’s a glass/ceramic reinforced novolac epoxy lining for high temperature aqueous cold wall corrosion conditions. ARC HT-S incorporates fine-graded sizes of reinforcements which are permeation resistant, resistant to cold wall delamination and survives rapid decompression. It ensures high adhesive strength to metal and resists thermal-mechanical shock. This temperature resistant coating delivers in-situ curing in service at elevated temperature, reducing downtime and is high voltage spark testable to NACE SP 0188.
