Cactus & MONTI attended AMI Field Joint Coating Conference & Exhibition
Hosted at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London, the event focused on state-of-the-art and novel developments in materials, products and technologies for field joint coating and other field-applied coating solutions for pipelines.
The conference also offered superb opportunities to network with engineers, coatings specifiers, researchers and commercial personnel who work for the world’s leading steel pipe manufacturers, coating specialists, contractors, pipeline owners and operators, raw materials suppliers, machinery manufacturers, as well as testing and certification organisations.
Dr. Robert J. Stango, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Marquette University, US, presented paper on comparative studies involving bristle blasting and grit.
Blasting processes for pipeline surface preparation – Dr J Stango gave fantastic insight into using technology for field joint coating preparation applications which generated significant interest in the use of Bristle Blaster for surface preparation.
Jamie Gallagher Technical Sales Manager commented:
Field-applied coating solutions for the pipelines market will be growth area for Cactus Industrial business. Cactus/MONTI had a number of visitor’s to their stand over the two days who expressed an interest in using Bristle Blaster technology for field joint coating preparation as alternative to grit blasting. The conference also allowed Cactus Industrial to understand new developments surrounding the subject of corrosion and the challenges faced by industry in the application of field joint coatings
